Our theme this time around is "Lovecraft and Modern Science", which is probably about as close as we're ever likely to get to the home turf of any science-fiction buffs out there. Our contributors in this issue bring to bear on Lovecraft's stories an array of expertise in various fields of science, or at least on how to bluff your way through them! These specialized fields include physics, biology, mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy of science. The resulting picture is liable to look something like a game of dodge-ball with HPL on one side, and the whole scientific community on the other! At any rate, we'll be on the lookout to see just how accurately Lovecraft used scientific subject matter, but more importantly, how creatively he employed it, even when it was bogus.

Besides this, we offer you another collector's-item cover by Jason C. Eckhardt, who's this issue's Fun Guy from Yuggoth, to boot! And, last but not least, we welcome the cartooning talents of Darrell Schweitzer, a veteran Lovecraftian who needs no introduction (beside the one we just gave him!).

All right, all you "sense-chained inhabitants of a microscopic earth-dot," get ready to be blown away by the scientific horrors from the unplumbed gulfs of HPL's imagination. lä! Hastur!
